ABOUT DEPARTMNT

DEPARTMNT is building the new interface for the internet; one you can tap, wear, and walk through. We connect products, people, and places using NFC, smart design, and blockchain-backed layers, making culture interactive in real life.

OUR ECOSYSTEM

smart tags that activate digital experiences

a web app that lets people claim, connect, and unlock access

a SaaS platform for brands to turn physical things into data-rich, gamified, digital touchpoints

We work across fashion, music, and events, empowering culture-led brands to create drops, perks, and portals that move beyond content and into participation.

This isn’t about fixing the internet.

It’s about replacing it with something real.

the role

We’re hiring Full-Stack Developers to help build and scale the DEPARTMNT ecosystem.

You’ll work across our web app (CNX) and our SaaS platform (CORE), helping develop the tools that turn physical products into digital experiences: with NFC, blockchain, and culture at the core.

You’ll collaborate with a tight product and design team to rapidly ship features, test ideas, and build the future of how brands and communities interact in the real world.

What You’ll Do

  • Build features for CNX (PWA) and CORE (SaaS) using React, TypeScript, and Supabase
  • Develop clean, modular components and reusable services
  • Contribute to NFC ownership flows, content unlocks, and CRM-style tools
  • Work closely with design and product to deliver beautiful, functional user experiences
  • Participate in code reviews, standups, and agile development
  • Troubleshoot bugs, improve performance, and refactor code
  • Support integration of blockchain and AI features as needed

What You’ll Bring

  • 3–5 years of full-stack development experience
  • Strong skills in TypeScript, React (Next.js), and Postgres-based backends (e.g. Supabase)
  • Ability to work across frontend and backend with confidence
  • Experience building consumer-facing apps and internal dashboards
  • Good grasp of authentication, APIs, and modern tooling (Vercel, GitHub, monorepo)
  • Bonus: experience with NFC, Web3/blockchain flows, or AI tools
  • Self-starter attitude — curious, fast-moving, and collaborative

What We Offer

  • Flexible working (remote / London-based studio optional)

  • Equity options for the right candidates
  • Creative freedom and early ownership
  • Direct input into a category-defining product
  • A fast-paced, no-bullshit team building something that actually matters
